Where we are we now

In the Spring of 2016, the Ontario Government introduced Bill 181, The Municipal Elections Moderation Act which has passed and received Royal Assent. Ontario is the only province in Canada that allows municipalities to use ranked ballots and proportional representation to elect their local councils.

On October 22nd 2018, London, Ontario became the first city in Canada to use ranked ballots. In October 2018 referendums, Kingston, Ontario and Cambridge, Ontario both voted yes, in favour using ranked ballots in future elections.

We want Windsor, Ontario to be part of this movement for fairer and friendly municipal elections.
